Position Description
Job Summary:
Pediatric Neurology NP/PA is responsible for providing comprehensive care to pediatric patients with a range of neurological conditions. This role involves conducting detailed evaluations, interpreting diagnostic studies, formulating treatment plans, and offering ongoing education and support to patients and their families. Conditions commonly managed include epilepsy, headaches, neuromuscular disorders, developmental delays, and other complex neurological issues.
This position is a day-shift role, Monday through Friday, with a primary focus inpatient consultation. The provider will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other specialists to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate documentation, communicating effectively with care teams, and contributing to care strategies designed to enhance patient outcomes.
This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.
Education:
Required: Completion of Nurse Practitioner Program from an accredited school, with Acute care certification or Graduate of Physician Assistant Program accredited by the American Academy of Physician Assistant, BS/BA required.
Preferred:
Minimum 2 years of Pediatric experience is a plus
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required: Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee. Eligibility to sit for certification in area of specialty. BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and to be maintained going forward. PALS certification kept current.
The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.
