Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner Job Details

• Position Type: Locum tenens (contract/travel)
• Healthcare Setting: Urgent Care Center
• Location: Goldsboro, NC 27534 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (potential extension)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12-hour shifts
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,150 - $3,370 per week
• Patient Volume: Up to 40 patient encounters per shift (adults and pediatrics, ages 6 months+)
• EMR: Epic (training provided)

Nurse Practitioner Qualifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner license (NP) in North Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in urgent care, acute care, or emergency medicine
• Board Certification (NP Boards required)
• Current BLS certification
• Experience with Epic EMR or willingness to train
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently as sole provider
• Competence in treating both adult and pediatric patients

Urgent Care Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive urgent care services to patients ages 6 months and up
• Perform minor procedures: I&D, laceration repair, ear irrigation, and other acute interventions
• Accurately document patient encounters in Epic EMR
• Collaborate with onsite support staff and offsite supervising physician
• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care with excellent bedside manner
• Complete onboarding and EMR training prior to first solo shift
